a) Description of the organisation
Instituto Enerxetico de Galicia (INEGA) is a public Energy Agency founded by the Autonomous Galician Region in 1999 with law 3/1999.
Its mandates are:
·Elaborate and propose competent suggestion in energy plans
·Promote and execute projects in energy field
·Elaborate dispositions for the energetic policy management
·Foster programs for energetic evaluation and audit to improve energy efficiency and a rational use of energy
·Check and monitor the energy production plants and greed
·Foster programs promoting equipments and services related with energy efficiency
·Foster and participate in the realization and implantation of energy production plants based on endogen and renewable sources
·Make studies and give suggestions on energy field for both private and public bodies.
·Leading awareness campaigns in order to reduce energy consumption and foster energy efficiency
To achieve its mandates INEGA can establish conventions and contracts with private and public bodies interested in energy improvements. Collaborate with other administration to foster the adoption of instruments for energy savings and for the rationalisation of production and distribution of energy. Give funds in energy projects to be actuated on its own or in cooperation with other public or private institutions.
