8. Co-financing Sources

Please explain clearly the co-financing sources for each participant in the proposal with the help of the table below:

  • a) In the case that you are proposing to use internal (own) resources, explain clearly the

rationale/motivation behind this decision specifically for each partner;

  • b) In the case that you are expecting/aiming at co-financing from external 3rd parties, identify the cofinancing

party and describe the state of advancement in the confirmation of this co-funding. Note that confirmation of this funding or letters of intent for funding may be attached to the proposal, but are not mandatory at proposal stage.

Participant Co-financing source Comments related to case a) or b) above
CO1 Internal FUNITG decision to promote the RINNOVATE project proposal with TRECON and to take on the responsibility of its co-ordination is part of a strategy of open innovation and participation to the governance that FUNITG is deploying since 2005. In the case of RINNOVATE, the project originates from a long running work with the professional trade associations of architects and engineers and the agreement signed with BRE Global Ltd BREEAM - the world’s leading building sustainability assessment and certification methodology a holistic approach to measuring and improving all types of new and existing buildings - to the nature, particularities and regulations governing the Spanish construction industry. FUNITG is also an active member of the Galician Forum for sustainability in the Building and Construcion sector. The frame and theme of the IEE 2011 call has then considered an appropriate opportunity of investment for strengthening more European liaisons in this field. In fact RINNOVATE explores a branch of the energy performance of buildings that is startegic for FUNITG: RES for NZE through renovation in fact require miultiple partnerships, competences for which FUNITG may become a catalyzer. FUNITG have decided to invest its own resources to further investigate and explore the issue and to strengthen its leadership role in the domain of environmental and energy performances.
CB2 Internal The decision of INEGA Instituto Enerxético de Galicia Energy Agency (Public Body of the Autonomous Community of Galicia) to participate to the RINNOVATE project proposal and to co-finance its implementation comes from the institutional mandate of INEGA. The participation to RINNOVATE is in line with its mandate due to its natural role to be an interface for both owners sector (private and public) and experts sector. In this way it’s easier for INEGA to contribute in a significant way to catalyze the attention around ZEBRA approach and shift the community behavior towards different, holistic approach to design and planning of building renovation and maintenance. INEGA mandate to support institutions responsible for energy plans and programs, for which RINNOVATE will be a valuable contribution, in particular in the public procurement.
CB3 Internal INEGI - Instituto de Engenharia Mecânica e Gestão Industrial decided to take part in the conceiving and preparation of the RINNOVATE project proposal and is willing to co-finance its implementation because it will be an opportunity to develop INEGI futher in this field. INEGI is strongly interested in energy efficiency and RES issues and will be in the forefront during the definition activities for the ZEBRA minimalistic benchmarking energy performance information sets that allows to characterize a problem, solution, product and method in relation with NZEB orientated renovation. INEGI is interested in encouraging and promoting relationships and cooperation with other communities and support the definition of guidelines for collaboration between different connections.
CB4 Internal TRECON started to outline the RINNOVATE project proposal since the beginning with FUNITG. TRECON decided to participate and co-finance with own resources the RINNOVATE action, because it is an optimal opportunity to extend its exchanges of know-how at European dimension and to develop more relations in the field the one of energy audits for buildings, surrounded by a group of consolidated experts. TRECON has already been involved with some of its key sources in activities dealing with the energy efficiency and RES field. The management of TRECON also want to engage its qualified engineering staff in the development and implementation process of EU policis in the energy-building sector.
CB5 Internal Applus Norcontrol, SLU Energy and environment are keywords of APPLUS activity, particularly in the certification and audit energy domain. APPLUS is interested to the development of the new born ISO 16001 and ISO 50001 energy management standards. RINNOVATE is a candidate field of implementation and further development with tha contribution project’s key actors (builders, suppliers and installer). APPLUS is also interested to intensify its collaboration with European scientific and technological institutions, and RINNOVATE is an opportunity to work side by side. Finally, APPLUS foresee a wide field of implementation of ZEBRA which is complementary with APPLUS activity in the field of building renovation.
CB6 Internal CNAMAR, has statutory mandate to contribute to the devlopment of sustainable projects that improve the business and social environment of its for its associated SMEs. CNAMAR has chapters that are immediately affected by RINNOVATE because they work in the renovation business and a model like ZEBRA can leverage the innovation potential of undertakings, but also be a menace if not understood. For these reasons CNAMAR Direction decided to participate actively in the consortium, earmarking the relevant cofinancing amount.
CB7 Internal CST, the Centre for Sustainable Technologies at the University of Ulster, has the mission to develop, improve, demonstrate and evaluate emerging, existing and alternative sustainable renewable energy, building design, construction materials, transport and environmental modification technologies. RINNOVATE is of special interest because the integration of RES and EE solutions into the existing building stock calls for interdisciplinary work which is a feature of CST. Moreover CST is member of the European Network of Living Labs, which could be a friend community. The decision to participate to RINNOVATE and to allocate proper co-financing fits with the policy of the University of Ulster.
