It is not common practice to insert renovations (major and small renovations and corrective maintenance) in an energy efficiency strategy for a building. In fact usually there is not such a strategy for the majority of buildings.
As a result interventions are not coordinated, do not exploit potential synergies, may collide and weaken each other.
There is also a lack of understanding about measuring returns (energy returns and bill returns) that reduce owners' confidence in spending for obtaining additional energy performances.

On the other hand there are many examples, good practices, good products, experts but narrowly closed in their sectors and regions.

The project aims at creating a community of owners, experts and suppliers that work on a "renovation pathway towards NZEB".

In the end RINNOVATE will be an information cross-point to solutions, experts, documentation. It will not be a repository itself, instead it is thought as an effective switching box where experts can give their advise.

To show how it may work, free online consultancy services will be put in place to help some owners to devise their "renovation pathway towards NZEB".

The planned project duration is 30 months.
